Certificate of Achievement
The Certificate of Achievement is the Farrington Health Academy's commitment to industry that our graduates have demonstrated the skills and behaviors of a competent, compassionate and committed caregiver.
Students will work toward a Certificate of Achievement that will be awarded at the end of the senior year.
The certificate may include all or any of the following areas:
1. ORAL COMMUNICATION
2. WRITTEN COMMUNICATION SKILLS
3. WORK PERFORMANCE
4. COMMUNITY SERVICE
Students will work toward a Certificate of Achievement that will be awarded at the end of the senior year.
The certificate may include all or any of the following areas:
1. ORAL COMMUNICATION
- Standard: Students will show competence in oral communication skills through receiving a 70% or higher rating on the mock interview rubric and proficiency rating on the Capstone Presentation
2. WRITTEN COMMUNICATION SKILLS
- Standard: Students will show proficiency in passing the SBA with a score of 3 or 4 and receive a proficiency rating on the Capstone Research paper.
3. WORK PERFORMANCE
- Standard: Students will show growth and be at the meet/exceed levels in the following six behaviors by their senior year:
- Attendance
- Work Completion
- Work Done On Time
- Following Directions
- Effective Group Member
- Accountability
4. COMMUNITY SERVICE
- Standard: Students will complete a minimum of hours of Community Service during their years on Health Academy.
- Class of 2020 need a minimum of 50 hours
- Class of 2021 need a minimum of 60 hours
- Class of 2022 need a minimum of 60 hours
- Class of 2023 need a minimum of 60 hours
Health Academy Cord Requirements
Students who successfully complete all Health Academy cord requirements will be presented with cords at the Health Academy Graduation Ceremony.
To earn the cord the student must:
*Students who do not meet the cord requirements may submit a letter to the Health Academy team explaining any extenuating circumstances and reasons for exceptions.
To earn the cord the student must:
- Pass all Academy required courses
- Health Core
- Clinical Health
- Cooperative Education
- Human Physiology
- If failed Human Physiology, take Chemistry and earn a “C” or better
- Complete writing assessment & demonstrate proficiency
- Pass 11th grade SBA with a 3 or 4
- Complete oral communication assessment at 70% or higher
- Both 11th grade mock interview and 12th grade capstone presentation
- Complete hours of community service by April 1st of graduating year
- Class of 2020 need a minimum of 50 hours
- Class of 2021 need a minimum of 60 hours
- Class of 2022 need a minimum of 60 hours
- Class of 2023 need a minimum of 60 hours
- Show growth in Work Performance by senior year
- Attend the Health Academy’s Graduation Ceremony
