Volunteering
Volunteering can provide excellent opportunities for students and can give them greater insight into health careers. Volunteer qualifications vary among each institution. Some facilities have age restrictions. If a student is interested in volunteering, it is their responsibility to contact the volunteer office.
All hours should be documented as students can qualify for a Certificate of Achievement in Community Service if they complete a certain minimum of hours.

The service award is given each session to a student who demonstrates the spirit of community service within the FHS community. The winner is determined by consensus of the Health Academy teachers. The award is presented at Induction for Session 1 and the Health Academy Graduation for Session 2.
HOSA - Future Health Professionals
HOSA is a national student organization endorsed by the U.S. Department of Education and the Health Science Technology Education Division (HSTE). HOSA’s mission is two-fold: to promote career opportunities in the health care industry and to enhance the delivery of quality health care to all people. Farrington’s HOSA chapter will strive to promote the goals of the national organization as well as provide opportunities for students to volunteer their services to the local health care community and to participate in state and international competition. HOSA is open to all Health Academy students. See www.HOSA.org for more information.
